VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The importance of volunteers in our coalition can never be overestimated. Like most nonprofit organizations, significant parts of our programs and activities are enabled by people willing to give their time and energy. In our coalition, a faithful team of dedicated volunteers does many of the day-to-day activities. Volunteer responsibilities range from opening the daily mail to writing grant proposals seeking funding from corporate foundations.

We have volunteers who give us information about the pornography industry, help us work with victims, provide expertise on public education, assist in understanding law enforcement, offer advice on media relations, speak on behalf of LICCV, and help with the development of overall organizational strategy.

In short, LICCV could not exist without volunteers.

We dependent on the time others are able to give us in order to accomplish the strategic plans of our organization. This includes those who pray, write letters, attend public rallies, work in churches, and speak on the harm of pornography.

The goal is to allow us to do more through volunteers and, in turn, facilitate the growth of our program base.

The following are areas we need volunteer help in. We generally ask four hours
once a week, unless the volunteer has more time to spare.

Fund Development Strategies

The strategy developed for funding LICCV reflects its objective to establish a local community fund raising partnership. LICCV has found that there are thousands of residents on Long Island who are deeply disturbed by the proliferation of pornography and sexual exploitation in the Long Island/Metropolitan area, and therefore contribute financially. The citizens of Long Island claim ownership of this movement and will see that when enough concerned  individuals join together, they can make a difference. The balance of LICCV's budget has been raised from concerned business leaders, service and civic clubs, churches, foundations, corporations, and special events.
